We have ported our decoding SDK into Symbian OS platform. Two applications for mobile phones Nokia 7650/3650 are ready now: 
Decode Data Matrix and preview the text being encoded.
Quick SMS messaging by means a Data Matrix scanning.

Some comments.
1. User himself should deploy an Ordered *.SIS file into his mobile phone via PC Suite for Nokia7650/Nokia3650.
2. Data Matrix that is used for SMS messaging has to encode a numeric phone number followed by message text.
For instance this matrix encodes the sample text
"28412 BVG"
chosen from "TELEPAY Newsletter 3 April 2003"
If someone generates SMS message by our program no fingertip input is required. It is an optimum solution for mobile operators to provide SMS services arranged with bar codes because of its extreme usage simplicity.
You can try to form the SMS message directly from the Data Matrix above. You need only:
To select and start the program icDM_SMS from the phone desktop,
To locate the Data Matrix into camera field of view
And push the phone's joystick.
